le sigh

I'm thinking of dropping out of Tony's dnd campaign due to inactivity.

At this point, we play maybe once every 4-6 weeks and with those kind of time gaps, I can't even get into character at all because I can't remember what his last state was. So instead of the chaotic element with comedic relief he just feels sort of dead and I'm playing me in the campaign.

Our last session was July 4th and with schedules; I won't get to play again until the second weekend in September at the earliest, even if another session was done this month.

I don't know... just the lack of consistency has made me feel disenfranchised from the whole thing. I'd even consider running my own campaign but I'm not so sure anyone would be interested and Tony might even get offended.

*sigh*

Updated Purchase Planning

So I know this is "dead" and all but I didn’t feel like posting it to facebook so it goes here instead. :)

Previously, I expected to move in October, buy the Taco (Tacoma) in January, and then a motorcycle sometime after.

Given the furloughs (goodbye $670/mo) and the freeze which prevented my in-place promotion I’ve had to adjust. So the plan now is to move out in January, buy the bike in June, and the taco gets pushed back until whenever it is that I do get promoted, I’m expecting end of next year (2010).

This isn’t so bad; the motorcycle will actually save me money, as it’ll be cheaper to operate than the subi (I’ll still have it, just not using it for most commuting) and I’ve wanted one for forever and a day; I’m looking at a Suzuki Boulevard M50; or if I’m feeling daring and sure of myself, an M90. Suzuki’s model naming system is pretty easy, the number is the aprox engine displacement in cubic in.

The extra time will also allow me to fully plan out modifications to the Taco; time that’ll be needed if I’m actually going to go the 5.1 route; I have to dig up more info on what lies underneath the dash.

Anyway; that’s it… allegedly we’re supposed to go on strike coming up here – I’m not actually a union member (I have to pay fair share fees though) so I don’t think I’m obliged to participate. I loathe our union, so I’m really apathetic about anything they’re for.

I believe on the surface monogamy seems more difficult, binding one's self to a single person; however with respect to long-term relationships I believe it's both simpler and easier than polygamy, in which your dedication is divided amongst several people, which under the most strenuous of circumstances prevents you from being able to be there 100% for all of them (simultaneously). Then again, many in monogamous relationships partners simply fail to be there for each other 100% anyway...

In short, yes I do, but it's not a universal solution; and I think biologically most are wired polygmatically.

"Hello State of California Assistant and Associate Information System Analysts (specialist and supervisors) and 1st line Supervisors,

The State Personnel Board (SPB) is conducting a job analysis for the Assistant and Associate (specialist and supervisors) Information System Analysts (ISA) classifications. The purpose of this job analysis is to assess the Tasks that are done on the job by Assistant and Associate (specialist and supervisor) ISA(s) working for the State of California and the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) needed to perform those Tasks. The next step of the job analysis is to have this list of Tasks and KSAs rated by incumbents and immediate supervisors. As a result of this job analysis, an on-line level exam will be developed. With your help, we expect to have this exam up and running early next year.

A link is provided in the body of this email for the online job analysis survey. Please read over the rating scales and their instructions before you begin rating each Task and KSA statement. It is important to note that you are rating the Task and KSA statements for the job that you do, as an Assistant and Associate (specialist and supervisor) ISA working for the State of California, and not what you think others in your classification may or may not do. If you are a supervisor of an Assistant and Associate (specialist and supervisor) ISA, please fill out the survey for the job that you supervise."

I’ve been somewhat self destructive lately I think. I think considering looking at Fed jobs was part of that. I was trying to find reasons to go, when really there were none; I was just being impatient.

Why?

Because I don’t like routine… I like chaos. I like spontaneity. With so much going on, most everything has to be planned in advance these days – no more drop-of-the-hat road trips or whatever. It feels too normal, too comfortable and I panic. Basically, the same thing I do with women…

What you’re nuts? Yes please! What, your stable yet fun? Uhh, I have to go now…

Why am I naturally an idiot? If only I could save me from myself.

There were entries I wanted to make this week.... but alas my insomnia has been full force and I'm lucky to get 3 hours of sleep here or there. It's back-burnered any sort of real thought.

I'm gonna take off early today to swing by Frank's with Marty and then pass out. Hopefully for a great many hours.
